OUR MISSION
Madani's Kitchen's mission is to delight your guests and offers you a catering service tailored to your needs for all your events, both private and public, such as cocktail dinners, corporates, events and buffets. From appetizers to main courses, desserts, local juice cocktails, Madan'is Kitchen offers you everything you need for an unforgettable moment. Hot or cold buffets are also offered on a theme chosen by the client to ensure an event that reflects his or her own tastes and personal touch. Your guests will be able to enjoy appetizers such as pastels (fish or meat), accompanied by a delicious tomato and onion sauce, slightly spicy. The service also offers very popular dishes from Africa such as « poulet Yassa » (lemon onion sauce), but also « Thiep bou yap » (Rice with lamb shank) or the famous Senegalese national dish « Thiep bou diene » (Rice with fish). Dishes that will allow everyone to discover the extraordinarily rich and varied culinary art of the African continent.
OUR VISION
Until its recent years, African gastronomy was little known internationally. Judged not very gastronomic, too fatty, too spicy, it was the subject of many prejudices. The aim Madani's Kitchen is also to re-establish the letters of nobility of African cooking, which is extraordinarily rich and varied, that the founders of Madani's Kitchen created their brand. Thanks to their in-depth knowledge and experience in customer service, Rokia Kone and her partner Ansou Sagna wish to promote the culinary art of a continent, often forgotten and relegated to the secondary level in the Western world. Madani's Kitchen has therefore set itself the goal of introducing the tasty dishes of the continent in all its diversity and richness, offering fresh and natural products, concocted in a style combining modernity and tradition. Madani's Kitchen is thus a pioneer in its approach, as it is the first gastronomic catering service that wishes to showcase Senegalese cooking in Vancouver. Beyond meat, chicken and fish dishes, the brand also offers seafood dishes and even vegetarian meals. Madani's Kitchen also offers the opportunity to discover local juices, such as Bouye juice (fruit of African Baobab), "bissap" very popular in Senegal, prepared with hibiscus flowers. The « bissap » juice is not only a real delight but it is also recognized for its many health benefits.

Indeed, the founders attach great importance to fresh local products that give all their flavor to the dishes offered by the brand. Madani's Kitchen is also a service that promotes the values of sharing and conviviality around a good meal. These values are especially important in Africa, particularly in countries such as Senegal, where the "Teranga" (culture of hospitality and sharing) is a deeply rooted tradition. Therefore, beyond a catering and restaurant service (in the future), it is a whole culture that Madani's Kitchen wishes to share with its customers. It is all these humanistic values, where the well-being of the customer counts above all, that the brand embodies, which also strives to promote the African continent and its culture through the culinary art. These are the objectives of Rokia Koné and Chef Ansou, who are part of these entrepreneurs from the African Diaspora, who participate not only in the economic influence of their host country but also of their original country.

Who is Rokia KONE?

Founder of Madani's Kitchen, Rokia Kone has been passionate about culinary art since she was a child. Originally from Mali, the woman who grew up in the Senegalese capital Dakar learned to cook from an early age alongside her mother, who passed on her knowledge and culinary experience. From the age of ten, she already mastered the tasty dishes of Senegal and Mali. After her accounting studies in a field of management, she has been working for ten years in Mali as an administrative et financial Director in a communication agency. She decided to emigrate to Canada in 2009, first in Montreal then in 2012 she moved to Vancouver, where she currently works as an Office Manager at the Maillardville Francophone Society. Despite her full professional experience in management and accounting the passion of cooking has never left her. Becaming aware of her passion for food, she decided to undertake and start her own business. In February 2020, she created Madani's Kitchen, a gourmet catering service specializing in African flavors. She founded it in partnership with chef Ansou Sagna. Currently, the only gourmet catering service in Vancouver, Madani's Kitchen offers cuisine that blends African and international flavors, combining condiments and spices that enhance the taste.

Who is Ansou SAGNA?

Chef Ansou Sagna, from Senegal, has more than 20 years of experience in the world of gastronomy. Passionate since his youth about culinary art, he has managed many kitchens and trained in upscale hotels in the Senegalese capital Dakar, before moving to Canada where he works as a cook in a retirement home. A faultless course that is not surprising for the chef who loves rigor, constancy and is always in search of perfection. If his cuisine is so appreciated it is undoubtedly because the chef Ansou constantly innovates, working in search of new flavors to bring a touch of originality to the dishes he concocts. Chef Ansou also has the particularity of having been a trainer in his country and member of the jury for the organization of the graduation diploma of students in culinary art in Senegal. Just like Rokia Koné, with whom he teamed up to create Madani’s Kitchen, his ambition is to promote African culinary art beyond the borders of the continent.
